AIGP (Rtd) Asan Kasingye is a distinguished retired Assistant Inspector General of Police with over 30 years of exemplary service in the Uganda Police Force. A seasoned leader in national security, community policing, and international law enforcement, he held key positions including Director of INTERPOL & International Relations, Chief Political Commissar, and Police Spokesperson.
Kasingye played a pivotal role in combating transnational crimes such as human trafficking, cybercrime, and wildlife trafficking. His global contributions include co-founding the African Union Police Coordination Mechanism (AFRIPOL) and serving as Vice President of the African chapter of the International Police Executive Symposium (2008–2022).
Academically, he holds a BA in Social Sciences and an MA in Public Administration and Management from Makerere University.
Currently, he serves as a Patron at the Youth Organisation for People Empowerment (YOPE), where he leverages his influence to advance policy reforms on cybercrime prevention, digital safety, and online rights for young people. He acts as a strategic bridge between the organisation and key government institutions, driving meaningful change in digital governance.
