Dr. Alvin Mutebi is a distinguished Human Rights and Peace Advocate with deep expertise in peacebuilding, good governance, anti-corruption, and conflict management across East Africa. He holds a PhD and a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies from Addis Ababa University, a Bachelor’s degree in Ethics and Human Rights from Makerere University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies from Hekima University College.
Currently serving as the Head of Research and Advocacy at the Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda (ACCU), Dr. Alvin has led high-impact initiatives in election observation, youth and women empowerment, policy advocacy, and baseline assessments. He has worked with leading regional and international organisations, including CEON-Uganda, CCEDU, IGAD-CEWARN, and the United Nations Youth Envoy.
A DANIDA Fellow and member of the Youth Advisory Panel at the Royal Danish Embassy, he has represented Uganda in key global policy spaces such as the AU Continental Framework on Youth, Peace and Security and the UN High-Level Conference on Inclusive Peace Processes.
At YOPE, Dr. Alvin plays a strategic role in advancing evidence-based programming by guiding research design, implementation, and evaluation. His work empowers the organisation to translate data into high-level advocacy and program effectiveness, creating meaningful impact in communities. With strong analytical acumen, training and mentoring capabilities, and a passion for justice, Alvin continues to champion inclusive development and sustainable peace in Africa and beyond.
