Micheal Nimusiima is an experienced Protection programme manager with over a decade of impactful work in the humanitarian and legal sectors. He has led initiatives to combat human trafficking, prevent child exploitation, and support survivors through legal protection frameworks and innovative program strategies. His expertise spans program development, policy advocacy, risk assessment, and training, with a strong focus on mitigating legal and operational risks in complex humanitarian contexts.
As Senior Program Officer at AVSI Foundation (2016–2024), Micheal spearheaded policies to prevent sexual exploitation and trafficking, collaborated with law enforcement to prosecute perpetrators, and led capacity-building efforts for staff and communities. His recent experience at Hoima Chief Magistrates Court further strengthened his legal research, case preparation, and victim support work in trafficking and child protection cases.
